This series of 10 classes will cover the basics of physics: force, work, energy, electrons, magnets and light and sound waves. Each class will include about 10 minutes of lecture, followed by a hands-on experiment which follows the scientific method and a brief recap of our findings. Older students may choose to complete a laboratory workbook (available for purchase from www.gravitaspublications.com), while younger students and others may participate orally. This course was designed for the K-3 level and is open to children 5 and up.
Signing up: This activity is limited to 20 kids, who will be broken up into 4 groups of 5 for the experiment part, with a little help from some of the adults. Advance sign-ups for members until Sept 1. Non-members can sign up anytime after that. Use the sign up feature below or contact Sonya at (514) 845-5421.
